Oatey #5 Lead-Free Solder Paste Flux is a professional-grade, petrolatum-based flux designed to provide superior wetting properties for consistent solder flow. This 100% lead-free formula effectively cleans and fluxes copper piping simultaneously, removing surface oxidation without the need for pre-cleaning on clean sweat fittings. It is safe for use in potable water applications and is compatible with all common plumbing solder alloys, except for aluminum, magnesium, and stainless steel. The specialized formula prevents copper piping from turning green and is particularly effective for large-diameter copper pipe installations.

Cleans & fluxes at the same time. Blended to clean surface oxidation. 100% lead free. Effective on all metals except aluminum magnesium & stainless steel. Pre-cleaning not necessary for clean sweat copper fittings for all other applications clean excessive dirt. Use w/solid wire solder.

Oatey #5 lead-free paste flux cleans and fluxes most commonly soldered metals including copper brass zinc galvanized iron lead and tin or copper-coated metals. fluxing is a critical step in the soldering process. #5 paste flux provides great wetting properties for better solder flow and can be used with most soft solders. #5 paste flux complies with CA and VT lead content regulations.
